Why this blogg is made.
Throughout history, science has made a major improvement to mankind. Because of science, we created amazing inventions like highly advanced supercomputers and airplanes over time, starting from a very simple, crude stone tools. However, when it came to morality, some people begged to differ. Some opposers blamed science for making weapons of mass destruction possible, most notably the atomic bomb. Other controversies stem from assisted medical suicide, supposedly wasteful or cruel experiments on animals, race and intelligence, and 'playing God'. Some religious believers also accuse science of disproving their beliefs. Not only that, some critics complained about the genetic alteration of food that are given out, claiming it can create unwanted consequences in the future, like the development of cancer. It is very important for scientists to do even risky procedures only if it will help humans and animals alike, and open our understanding of the world. But when critics blare out, it becomes clear that science can be taboo.

I like your blog jimmy, but as a suggestion, I would be careful when involving religion, some people may get defensive
ReplyDeleteMichelle is right, we have to be careful with the use of religion for a school related blog. Jimi, you can always create a separate blog that you do outside of school and you can use that to expand on your religious beliefs as well as ethical beliefs.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, great post. I like your use of major topics to get the discussion started.
I agree with both Michelle and Mrs Pacion that you should be careful of religious stuff and try to focus more on scientific stuff
