Race and Intelligence: Science's Taboo Source of Knowledge
Race and intelligence is probably one of Science's moral bashing field. According to this study, Asians have the highest IQ of any race, slightly higher than the whites on average. On the other hand, the blacks and the Australian Aborigines have the lowest IQ. This created an chain of controversies across the world. Many considered this study to have the potential of bringing up stereotypes, while it can put others down. Race and intelligence can be viewed as morally obscene, and downright racist. Scientists that support this have a chance to be forced to resign. This field will be controversial for quite some time.

Stem Cell Research: The Taboo Field
Stem cell research is probably one of Science's morally challenging taboos. Controversies stem (no pun intended) from the embryo dying in the process for medical purposes. Scientists claim that used stem cells can cure many medical problems today, including cancer. Critics claim that it is 'messing' with the normality of human life, others say it is no different from murder. There are laws (varying by states) against stem cell research because of its ethically bashing nature. Scientists that support it reasoned that one life, can save many others. But with this said, many refused to accept this research.

The Atomic Bomb: Science's Greatest Taboo
The atomic bomb is undoubtoubly the most destructive, controversial, and impossibly forgetable invention in the history of science the world has ever seen. It's existence greatly challenges all boundaries of morality and ethicality. Controversies including pickets surrounding atomic bombs existed even before it was invented! In 1945 during World War II, the whole world saw the cataclysmic bombings of Hiroshima(the Little Boy bomb), then Nagasaki,Japan(Fat Man). This created the infamous, and perhaps collosal explosion. Some people felt shocked, appalled, and heartbroken, while others were moved, relieved, mesmerized, and proud. Many of those people felt that Japan deserved this brutal attack, but the ones who resented were deeply offended. Because of the apocalyptic toll it had on the country, the Japanese quickly surrendered. It paved a new era for America. Revenge for the attack on Pearl Harbor was served very cold.
The two atomic bombs created extremely massive damage to Japan and its inhabitants. Many buildings were completely destroyed, while people suffered severe radiation burns. Those bombs send polluted gases everywhere from air to breathe in, to water to drink from. Many food sources were contaminated. Hiroshima and Nagasiki looked like a complete wasteland. Babies that were born were severely mutated, some even dead thereafter. Groups against atomic bombs used this incident as an example for the dangers of the weapon. Some people say that nations all over the world have enough bombs to possibly destroy all of humanity. Others say that this invention is holding humanity back from better development. Probably one of the most popular (and perhaps startling) assumption is that if atomic bombs will eventually become doomsday devices if they develop over time. Wether we should use them to defend our country, or refrain from using them for the environment, the debate continues...

Why this blogg is made.
Throughout history, science has made a major improvement to mankind. Because of science, we created amazing inventions like highly advanced supercomputers and airplanes over time, starting from a very simple, crude stone tools. However, when it came to morality, some people begged to differ. Some opposers blamed science for making weapons of mass destruction possible, most notably the atomic bomb. Other controversies stem from assisted medical suicide, supposedly wasteful or cruel experiments on animals, race and intelligence, and 'playing God'. Some religious believers also accuse science of disproving their beliefs. Not only that, some critics complained about the genetic alteration of food that are given out, claiming it can create unwanted consequences in the future, like the development of cancer. It is very important for scientists to do even risky procedures only if it will help humans and animals alike, and open our understanding of the world. But when critics blare out, it becomes clear that science can be taboo.
